Back to uni

Uni started again this week after a month of holidays. Quite pleased with my subjects this semester, but I am not too happy about one of my lectures being held at 8am Monday morning. I can see myself going to many of those, especially since it's a one-hour lecture and the only thing of the day.

Anyway, didn't do much over the holidays. Queensland has had one of the coldest winters anyone can remember with temperatures hitting the extreme low mid-day temperature of 16 C. I must admit it was two rough weeks. Luckily it wasn't like that all the time, and I tanned quite a few times on my balcony. Also did some day trips to scenic places, read Harry Potter and I don't know how many movies I've watched over the last month (did I mention that going to the movies here is about 5 dollars - 30 kr - a pretty affordable activity).

Visited a Medieval festival in the middle of July. It was pretty good stuff with people in costumes, sword fighting and Turkish oil wrestling. They also had markets with clothing, jewelry swords and armours, but the most popular (and also very dangerous) they sold were wooden swords. I think every kid in that place had one and they were all running around, fighting each other. I had to jump out of the way more than once to avoid these little monsters.

Vas had his graduation seremony the week before uni started. It was pretty amazing stuff with the funky academic dress, hat and the pompus seremony. Never seen uni dish up so much free food or drinks either=)
